On a farm in Heeswijk-Dinther, it was decided to pour a new floor on an existing floor with grids. In some places, only a few centimeters of concrete were poured. This wouldn’t have been possible with steel mesh because steel reinforcement requires a minimum of 3 cm of concrete cover due to corrosion concerns.
For fiberglass reinforcement, 1.5 cm of cover is sufficient since fiberglass is not susceptible to rust. Here, mesh of 5000×2000 /150×150 / 6mm have been chosen.
