WHY USE FIBERGLASS REINFORCEMENT

In addition to all the benefits, costs are naturally also very important. Architects and builders therefore carefully choose their materials. Well-thought-out constructions can lead to beautiful and efficient buildings. This also involves exploring possibilities with certain building materials, including reinforcement. By using fiberglass reinforcement, it is possible to suffice with a smaller diameter reinforcement in some situations. But also with less coverage and thus less concrete. Less concrete saves costs, but also significantly reduces curing time. Weight savings can also lead to savings in crane costs.

PROPERTIES OF FIBERGLASS REINFORCEMENT

CORROSION RESISTANT

Fiberglass reinforcement is corrosion resistant and does not rust!

4X LIGHTER THAN STEEL

Less weight in the final product, fewer crane hours, and much lighter to work with in terms of labor.

MORE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY

Producing fiberglass reinforcement is much more environmentally friendly than producing steel (1.9 tons of CO2 is produced per ton of steel).

LONGER LIFESPAN

Fiberglass reinforcement has a longer lifespan than steel.

HIGHER YIELD STRENGTH

Fiberglass reinforcement has a higher yield strength than steel.

HIGH TENSILE STRENGTH

600 – 1600 N/mm² compared to steel’s 200-550 N/mm².

CHEMICALLY RESISTANT

Chlorides and phosphates do not affect fiberglass.

NO STRENGTH LOSS

The material does not lose strength at very low temperatures, unlike the brittleness of steel under large temperature variations.

RADIO TRANSPARENT

The material conducts radio waves.

THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY

The thermal conductivity of the composite is 100 times lower than that of steel.

DIAMAGNETIC

The material is diamagnetic and has a repelling force.

HIGHER FLEXURAL RIGIDITY

Higher flexural rigidity than steel.
